Professor S. Tamer Cavusgil holds the Fuller E. Callaway Professorial Chair at Georgia State University in Atlanta Georgia, and is the Executive Director of the Center for International Business Education and Research at Robson College of Business. He specializes in the internationalization of the firm, global strategy, emerging markets, and buyer-seller relationships in cross-border business. Most recently, he has been researching the evolution of middle-class in rapidly transforming economies. Tamer’s professional career spans teaching, research and administrative responsibilities in international business and marketing at Georgia State University (2008- present), Michigan State University (1987-2008; Inaugural holder of John W. Byington Endowed Chair in Global Marketing), Bradley University (1983-87), University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (1978-83), and the Middle East Technical University (ODTU), Turkey (1976-78). Tamer is also a Visiting Professor at Leeds University Business School. He also holds adjunct professorships at the University of Adelaide (Australia) and Xi’an Jiaotong University (China). He serves on the Hong Kong Research Grants Council. Tamer is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions. In May 2014, he was inducted as Doctor Honoris Causa (Honorary Doctorate) by the Universiteit Hasselt, Belgium, “in recognition of seminal research in, and ground breaking contributions to the field of int’l marketing and int’l business performance.” Other awards include: The Journal of International Business Studies Decade Award (2014), American Marketing Association’s Excellence in Global Marketing Research Award (2002 and 2012); Distinguished Faculty, and Ralph H. Smuckler Award for Advancing International Studies and Programs (Michigan State University).
Professor Constantine S. Katsikeas is the Head of the Marketing Division, holds the Arnold Ziff Research Chair in Marketing and International Management, and is the Founding Director of the Global and Strategic Marketing Research Center at Leeds University Business School (LUBS), University of Leeds. He served as Vice President of the Academy of Marketing Science between 2012 and 2014. He has served as Faculty Executive Board Member in LUBS from 2007 to 2010 and from 2014 to 2016. Prior to this, he was the Sir Julian Hodge Chaired Professor in Marketing and International Business at Cardiff Business School, Cardiff University. He holds a B.Sc. from Athens University of Economics and Business, an M.A. from Lancaster University, and a Ph.D. from Cardiff University. His doctoral studies were supported by a scholarship from the ONASSIS Foundation. He has significant business experience in sales and international management. His interests are global marketing, sales management, cross-border relationship marketing, strategic alliances, and competitive strategy. He has published widely and his articles have appeared in Journal of Marketing, Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Journal of International Business Studies, Decision Sciences, Journal of International Marketing, Journal of World Business, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Business Research, Industrial Marketing Management, European Journal of Marketing, Management International Review, Long Range Planning, International Marketing Review, Journal of Marketing Management and International Business Review. He is the recipient of the American Marketing Association's 2013 and 2015 Excellence in Global Marketing Award for outstanding research, which has significantly influenced the direction of global marketing, the 2006 Hans B. Thorelli 5-Year Research Award by the American Marketing Association Foundation, and the 1999 S. Tamer Cavusgil Award for the best Journal of International Marketing paper that advances the practice of international marketing management. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Journal of International Marketing, published by the American Marketing Association, Editor–Marketing of Journal of International Business Studies, published by the Academy of International Business, and Area Editor of Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, published by the Academy of Marketing Science. He was Associate Editor of British Journal of Management (2004–2007) and serves on the editorial boards of Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Management International Review, Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Business Research, and Journal of Marketing Management. He is an active member of the American Marketing Association, the Academy of International Business, the Academy of Marketing Science, and the European Marketing Academy. He has led management development courses on strategic marketing, direct marketing, international management and exporting, sales management, relationship marketing, key account management, and competitive strategy.
