SUS-TER - Networking Knowledge, Skills and Competencies for an Inclusive and Sustainable Territorial Valorization of Cultural Heritage, Origin products and Biodiversity

The SUS-TER – “Networking Knowledge, Skills and Competencies for an Inclusive and Sustainable Territorial Valorisation of Cultural Heritage, Origin products and Biodiversity” project is funded by the Erasmus+ programme, KA2 - Capacity Building for Higher Education, an action that aims to encourage cooperation between the European Union and third countries in order to support the development of higher education systems, including the development of innovative educational programmes.

The project, coordinated by the Department of Economics and Management, has obtained a funding of 915,000 euros and envisages cooperation between three European partners (University of Florence, Universidad de Barcelona and Diversité & Développement) and six partners from three different Latin American countries: University of Caldas and University of Quindio (Colombia), Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica and Universidad de Costa Rica (Costa Rica), Universidad Nacional de Mexico and Universidad Iberoamericana (Mexico).

The aim of the project is to offer expertise in the sustainable valorisation of products of origin and the biocultural heritage of rural areas, creating development opportunities for rural communities, including in marginal areas and weak population groups.

Thanks to the project, each university will develop its own training offer that will enable it to strengthen knowledge and skills for the animation and management of territorial enhancement processes. The beneficiaries of the initiative will be university students and territorial operators (development agencies, public administrations, producer organisations).
